Where the Breastfeeding Educator Hub was born
Louise always aspired to become a midwife, though her journey began in her mid-20s with nursing training. Initially interested in gynaecology, she was offered a role in the neonatal unit, where caring for newborns sparked her passion for family care. Missing the connection with adults, Louise moved into midwifery and embraced it from day one. Over time, she discovered her true calling as a specialist midwife in infant feeding. Today, Louise combines her clinical expertise with a supportive approach, helping parents gain confidence and knowledge on their breastfeeding journey. Breastfeeding Educator Hub's online courses offer true flexibility - you can learn from home, involve your partner or family, and pause or replay lessons whenever you need.
Helping mothers feel empowered on their breastfeeding journeys
I developed a real passion for breastfeeding
"During my midwifery training, I developed a real passion for breastfeeding and ensuring women were properly educated on all things breastfeeding! The first few days of having a baby are really difficult, and navigating infant feeding on top of hormones and postpartum healing can be a real rollercoaster, and women need all the up-to-date, evidence-based support and encouragement they can get! Louise gave me great support and encouragement in order for me to help make a difference in women's lives! I have a much better understanding of infant feeding, things to look out for and a handful of tips and tricks for supporting women to initiate breastfeeding. I couldn't recommend her more and have no doubt that the information she has will help you gain the skills and knowledge you need to support women on their feeding journeys".

The data behind the theory
Soon after qualifying as a midwife, Louise accepted a role as an infant feeding research midwife, contributing to a major study on supporting low birth weight babies. This research deepened her understanding of infant feeding and the Baby-Friendly Initiative, building a trusted foundation for her later teaching. She then moved into public health midwifery, working directly with mothers and families to promote positive practices and ensure access to vital resources. These roles reinforced her commitment to not only delivering education but also building the confidence parents need when making feeding decisions.
