I’m Louise Brandman, a registered nurse, registered midwife, clinical education consultant and author with nearly two decades of clinical experience supporting parents, families and healthcare professionals.
My work is centred around one simple principle:
Good education empowers people.
Whether I’m supporting a parent, educating a healthcare professional or advising an organisation, I believe clinical information should be accurate, understandable and genuinely useful.
My experience across nursing, midwifery, infant feeding, education, consultancy and authorship allows me to bring a distinctive perspective to every project. By combining clinical knowledge with an understanding of how people receive and use information, I aim to create education that is evidence-informed, accessible and relevant to real-world needs.
Nearly two decades of clinical experience
My career has developed across nursing, midwifery, infant feeding and clinical education, giving me first-hand experience of supporting women, babies, families and healthcare professionals.
Nursing background
My nursing background helped me build the clinical knowledge and practical understanding that continue to shape my approach to education and communication today.
Midwifery experience
As a registered midwife, I have spent years supporting women and families through maternity and early parenthood. My experience includes five years working as an infant feeding lead midwife, which has given me extensive insight into infant feeding and the questions and challenges families can encounter.
Neonatal experience
My clinical background also includes time working on a neonatal unit. This experience has contributed to my understanding of more complex feeding journeys and the importance of clear, compassionate and evidence-informed communication when families are navigating challenging circumstances.
Supporting parents and families
Working directly with parents has taught me not only about clinical care but also about how information can be received during an emotional or uncertain time.
This experience shapes my approach to parent education. I aim to translate clinical information into practical, reassuring guidance that helps parents understand their options without making an already demanding stage of life feel more overwhelming.

My work extends beyond direct parent support to the education of healthcare professionals.
Through courses, resources, clinical articles and professional learning opportunities, I help professionals develop their knowledge and confidence in infant feeding, maternity and related areas of care.
Breastfeeding Educator Hub
I founded Breastfeeding Educator Hub as a dedicated educational platform supporting parents and professionals with trusted breastfeeding and infant feeding education.
The Hub reflects my commitment to making evidence-informed education accessible and practical. Today, it forms an important part of my wider work as a clinical educator, consultant and author.
Published author
I am also a published author and co-author of a series of breastfeeding books addressing a range of feeding experiences and areas where families may need additional information and support.
My publications include The Two Mother Breastfeeding Guide, available in English and Spanish editions; From Milk Lost to Milk Found; Breastfeeding Against the Odds; and Your Baby, Your Milk, Your Journey.
Writing allows me to take the clinical knowledge and experiences I have developed throughout my career and turn them into practical guidance that can reach and support a wider audience.
Consultancy and brand partnerships
My clinical and educational experience has naturally developed into consultancy and partnership work with brands, platforms and organisations.
I bring clinical insight, educational experience and an understanding of parents and professionals to projects designed to communicate information responsibly, strengthen education and create experiences audiences can understand and trust.
Founder of Breastfeeding Educator Hub
I created Breastfeeding Educator Hub as a dedicated educational platform to support parents and professionals with trusted breastfeeding and infant feeding education.
Through the Hub, I provide courses, professional learning, practical resources and accessible information designed to help people feel better informed and supported.
As my work has expanded, Breastfeeding Educator Hub has become an important part of my wider professional work, reflecting my experience in developing education for both parent and professional audiences.
Author and educator
Authorship is another important part of my work and gives me an opportunity to take complex or sensitive clinical subjects and translate them into practical, accessible guidance.
I co-author my breastfeeding books with Victoria Palavecino Richards, an IBCLC and naturopath. Together, our publications draw on our clinical experience to explore areas where families may require more specialised or inclusive guidance.
